Beberapa waktu lalu ketika sedang asyik nonton TV di ruangan atas, tiba-tiba terdengar teriakan-teriakan panik dibawah. Kebetulan di bawah lagi ada keponakan perempuan yang sedang main dirumah, jadi kebayang dong gimana hebohnya ada 3 suara cewek teriak-teriak panik (my wife, daughter & niece)... Ternyata entah darimana ada seekor ular kecil (kalau orang dulu bilang type ular sawah) didapur belakang, melingkar di dekat tabung gas.
Waduh! Ular! Binatang yg paling gw hindari, cukup melihat dari balik kaca aja kalau lagi ke Taman Safari atau ke BonBin, sempat panik don't know what to do... Gimana cara usirnya? Kalau kucing/anjing/ayam mah gampang tinggal hush! hush! hush! udah menghilang, tapi ini ular...
Rencananya mau panggil orang/satpam kompleks aja buat usir/buang tuh ular, but suddenly tiba-tiba ularnya bergerak masuk ke dalam dapur rumah... Man! Cepat banget tuh ular jalannya... refleks gw langsung loncat juga untuk menghindar di barengi dengan (lagi-lagi) teriakan panik & tangisan 2 anak perempuan (papa...! papa...! oom edwin!).
Well... begitu melihat betapa takutnya anak & istri gw... I have to do something! Since I'm the only grown up male (beside Toby my son) in the house... Sedikit nekat serta banyak deg-degan ketakutan ambil sapu... kenapa sapu? gagangnya panjang jadi bisa tetap jaga jarak sapa ular itu...
Coba disapu tuh ular kearah pintu keluar, bukannya keluar malah bergerak masuk kearah kaki gw... eaallaaah! Panik! Loncat! Mundur! Tarik napas bentar tenangin diri, ularnya juga tenangin diri mungkin karena ikut diam juga :) Trus teringat pernah nonton episode di Animal Planet cara orang nangkap ular step-by-step (my dear friend pasti senyum gw pake istilah ini). Ya udah diputuskan untuk PKL—Praktek Kerja Lapangan untuk nangkap ular ini.
Pertama sapu diarahkan untuk tekan kepala ular supaya gak bisa magut/matok, setelah yakin tuh ular gak bisa bergerak langsung gw pegang buntutnya angkat tinggi (detak jantung orang lari sprint) ambil kantong plastik kresek hitam... Bye-bye!
After that believe it or not fear againts snake sedikit berkurang (unless poison snake... teutep!) Apalagi di kantor ada teman penggemar binatang yg punya 3 macam ular tak berbisa (mostly phyton), sekarang udah berani pegang-pegang.
